Jacqueline Lavonne Sharpe
August 25th 1953 – July 30th, 2016
Jacqueline Lavonne Sharpe was born in San Diego, California, the 6th child of Lonnie and Sadie Sharpe. “Jackie” attended Logan Elementary, Memorial Jr. High and San Diego High Schools. While attending San Diego High School Jackie was a member of the track team. After High School Jackie gave birth to her first son, Lamont Charles Hoke-Sharpe and later gave birth to her second son Desmond Jamal Cegers. Jackie loved to see the sights around San Diego. Jackie was well known to spend her day walking or taking bus and trolley rides around the City. Jackie was preceded in death by her son Lamont Hoke-Sharpe, her father Lonnie Sharpe Sr., four brothers: Robert Sharpe, Lonnie Sharpe Jr., Tyrone Sharpe and Ernest Sharpe. Also preceding her in death was her beloved grandmothers Josephine Rooks “Mama Jo” and Sallie Sharpe “Mama Sharpe”. Jackie transitioned from this world on July 30, 2016 to join other family members in rest. Survivors include her son Desmond Cegers of Las Vegas, Nevada, her beloved mother Sadie Sharpe of Las Vegas, Nevada, 7 Grandchildren; Desmond Jr., Lamont, Deshia, Unique, Jamal, Quincy, Nevaeh, of Las Vegas, Nevada, 4 Sisters; Janie King of Moreno Valley, CA, Linda Gordon of Las Vegas, Nevada, Vi Wilson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Fennie Kelley of Las Vegas, Nevada. 4 Brothers; Clifford Sharpe of San Diego, CA, Maurice Sharpe of Las Vegas, NV, McRay Sharpe of Las Vegas, NV and Raymond Sharpe of Las Vegas, NV. And a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
