Jaye Dee Henderson was born on January 30, 1970 in Los Angeles, CA to Linda Joanne Phillips and John Dennis Henderson. Jaye was born to five older siblings. When she was six years old, she became a big sister to her baby brother, John Dennis Henerson. As a child, Jaye was a daddy’s girl and an avid clarinet player. Her claim to fame was that she played her clarinet for the mayor of LA when she was younger.
In her early teenage years, Jaye, her brother John, and mother left Los Angeles to move to San Diego for a fresh start. Jaye attended middle school and high school where she met many friends. It was during high school that she met Brian and they fell in love. Shorlty after, Jaye and Brian welcomed their pride and joy, Brianna. Although she was young and very scared, Jaye loved being a mother.
Years later, Jaye fell into the hands of addiction and fought through the disease for most of her adult life.
In 2005, Jaye had a beautiful baby boy named Jayden. Due to the circumstances, she was not able to raise him, however, despite not raising him, they had a natural bond and connection.
in 2007, Jaye became a Grandma and GaGa to her “grand-dude”, Manny. They quickly developed an unbreakable and inseparable bond. She would always tell Manny that he was the most important thing to her in the world. Their bond lasted until she took her last breath.
Jaye loved to be around children and her family. During her better years, she watched several children and she continued to make relationships with every child she came across. Jaye was always spending time with Brianna, Manny, and Nylah. She always lit up the room with her wild sense of humor and jokes, constantly making everyone laugh even if they were laughing at her. She loved to listen to music and watch videos of people dancing on her iPad.
On August 1, 2017, Jaye was found non-responsive and was rushed to the hospital where she was admitted to the ICU for over two weeks. She continued to fight for her life until she ultimately succumbed to her illness and condition.
