brooksLEE JAMES BROOKS was born September 5, 1925 in Vicksburg, Mississippi.   He was the youngest of five children born to loving parents, Jerry and Lucille Brooks.  He received his formal education in Mississippi. Lee accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young and was baptized at the Morning Star Baptist Church by the late Rev. E.H. Dunham. During the early 1940s, Lee enlisted into the United States Army, where he served his country with pride and honor during World War II. He received his Honorable Discharge in mid-1944.  In November 1945, Lee united in Holy Matrimony with the lovely Stephanie Adams. Their union was beautifully blessed with four children; Errol, Hermon, Paulette and Jerry. Lee was employed with MH Golden Construction Company. During his tenure with the company he made many long, lasting friendships. He retired after forty-five years of exemplary service and had continued a close relationship with his peers, management and owner.  After retirement, Lee continued helping family members and friends by using his skills in construction from laying concrete to building patios. Lee was widely known  for his love of fishing throughout the county of San Diego, which began during his youth.  He always shared his bounty of fish with family and friends. He was also known for conjuring up the best bar-be-que, which he also taught his son, Hermon and his granddaughter, Deyonne.  Lee was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and just an all-round family man and the best friend one could ever have. He was also kind, considerate to others and a hard-working provider for his family.  He was well respected and a pillar of strength for everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Phillip Brooks, Lillie Brooks, Margaret Long, and Juanita Walton. Early Monday morning, on October 10, 2016, the Lord called Lee James Brooks  home to receive his eternal rest.
