CSA San Diego County (CSA SDC) is hosting its inaugural “Celebrating Our Civil Rights Heritage and Future Gala” for Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Jo & Vi Jacobs Center at 404 Euclid Avenue, San Diego, CA 92114 with the Honorable Ambassador Andrew Young as the  distinguished keynote speaker.

The gala will support the organization’s Civic Responsibility Fund that promotes collective actions for and among ethnic and social communities.  In an effort to raise awareness about acts of racism and discrimination, CSA San Diego hosts forums in an effort to advocate and take action to challenge all forms of oppression. In addition, the organization spearheads outreach campaigns to fight against human trafficking and the exploitation of women and children.

CSA San Diego County is primarily a fair housing agency serving residents throughout the entire county with contracts to serve the Cities of Santee, El Cajon, National City, Carlsbad, La Mesa, Lemon Grove and unincorporated communities. They offer public and private contracts to support victims of human trafficking, victims of wage theft and other labor abuses, immigration and naturalization workshops for undocumented and documented immigrants, and civic engagement development and mentoring for youth.

This year’s inaugural Unity & Civil Rights Legacy Award Recipient is Kevin Keenan, who serves as the Executive Director, San Diego & Imperial County ACLU
