San Diego, CA – The Martin Luther King, Jr. Democratic Club is hosting a voter education workshop on Saturday, October, 15, 2016 at the Tubman Chavez Community Center located at 415 Euclid Avenue, San Diego, CA, 92114. Representatives from the League of Women Voters, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association will present information on the Ballot Measures and Propositions that will impact your families and communities. The Voter Education Workshop is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to arrive on time for the workshop.

“We are pleased to provide community members information on Ballot Measures and Propositions, and we feel it is especially helpful given the large number of measures and candidates on the Nov. 8 ballot,” said Taisha Brown, President of the MLK Jr. Democratic Club and member of the Democratic Central Committee. “We are also pleased that  BAPAC members will be registering new voters and those whose registration may have lapsed because we all know how important this election is.”

Workshop participants are encouraged to review and bring the California General Election Official Voter Information Guide, note paper and pens for notetaking; and Mail Ballots. The Voter Information Guide contains valuable information that will help voters make informed decisions. Impartial analyses, arguments in favor and against the large number of ballot measures are included.
