On Saturday, March 21st the San Diego Alphas were crowned the 2026 SoCal District Alumni Chapter of the Year. The ceremony took place at Cal State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA at the conclusion of the fraternity’s district conference.
The Southern California District comprises 14 alumni and 10 undergraduate chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, Hawaii, Japan and Korea. The San Diego Alphas were selected based on their benevolent contributions to San Diego’s economic development, providing a record number of scholarships to college-bound students, while faithfully executing the mandated national programs of the fraternity – Go to High School, Go to College, A Voteless People is a Hopeless People, Project Alpha and Brother’s Keeper.
The San Diego Alphas will now advance to compete for the title of Western Region Alumni Chapter of the Year. The judging will take place at the 77th Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Western Regional Convention in Tucson, Arizona from April 8 – 12, 2026.
