On Saturday the 4th, at the Columbus Hall on 4425 Home Avenue, the parking lot was the location for this year’s special anniversary celebration.
The positive event started with an 8 a.m. community clean-up by local community organizations.
The day also featured food, including a Gumbo cook-off and the popular Tony’s Fish & Chips and a Mexican cuisine mobile food truck, and more.
There was music, karaoke, and good vibe vendor booths surrounding the inner parking lot that provided arts & crafts, face painting, and tattooing by artist, Lovely Ink Vibes.
Southeast Art Team event planner Kim Phillips-Pea had this to say about the special 4th of July celebration:
“Mr Stumps, who is the owner of the Columbus Club, and his staff have been putting on community events for decades. Now that his staff has taken on other obligations, he has commissioned Southeast Art Team to help put on the event. There’s four events a year: Easter, Halloween, Christmas and the 4th of July. Anything we can think of to give our community a good time and to help them celebrate, that’s what we try to do.”
