Black Storytellers of San Diego, Inc. closed out their Black History Month programs with a culminating event, “Celebrating a Century of Black History Commemorations” at the MOXIE Theatre. The line up of storytellers included members, Linda Brown, President, Dr. Esther Anthony-Thomas, Wesley Thomas, OJ Mozon, Dr. Almena Mozon and Dr. T. Ford. Guest storytellers included, Elder Alyce Smith Cooper, Baba Anthony L. Ackee and Rene Menniefee.

The program also included the inaugural Master Storyteller Award recognizing and honoring, Calvin Manson—Visionary with Creative Excellence Who Preserves Black Narratives Through the Arts.

The presentation was made possible with a grant from the MOXIE theatre. Thank you to all who support Black Storytellers of San Diego, Inc. founded in 1999 by Ancestor, Dr. Annjennette McFarlin.
