October 22, 1920 – February 28, 2016
COLLINS, ROSANNA-1ROSANNA COLLINS was born on October 22, 1920 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was the fourth of ten children born to loving parents, Millard and Ora Ingram. She received her formal education in Oklahoma, where she also accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age. In 1945, Rosanna married the love of her life, Easter Collins. Although no children were born to their union, their lives were richly blessed with numerous nieces and nephews and her goddaughter whom they dearly loved. In 1952, Rosanna and Easter moved to San Diego, California, where they joined Greater Trinity Church. Rosanna served under three pastors over a span of sixty-four years; Reverend W. L. Gayton, Reverend. G. J. Washington and Reverend Clyde E. Gaines. She was a faithful member of Sunday School, BTU, Mission Department, Greater trinity Choir and the Pastor’s Aide. Her favorite scriptures were; Psalms 34 and Isaiah 40. Her favorite hymns were “Oh I Want to See Him” “Without God I Could Do Nothing” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”. She loved her church, her church family and her pastor; but above all she truly loved the Lord with all of her heart. In 1999, her beloved husband of fifty-four years was called home to Glory Rosanna was also very active in her community; volunteering wherever she was needed; visiting the sick and shut- in, including nursing homes. She was known as “Aunt Nana” and “Mother Collins” to many whom adored her. Aunt Nana’s love for Jesus was evidenced in her life; all that she did was credited to the love she had for her Savior. She spent the last years of her life in Temecula being cared for by her great niece, Karen Logan; meditating always on the love, faithfulness and peace that can only come from Jesus. Rosanna was the best homemaker. She enjoyed baking scrumptious, mouth-watering cakes, cookies, rolls, and carrot and banana bread. You name it, she baked it with a heart full of love. Rosanna, who had heart of gold, loved to feed and take care of others. She was also a connoisseur of fine foods; she especially enjoyed her own cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four sisters, Minerva, Katherine, Almetta and Dorothy and four brothers, Curtis, Melvin, William Monroe and Earl. On Sunday, February 28, 2016, Rosanna Collins was called from earthly labor to eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Erma Jean Reaves of Muskogee, OK; goddaughter, Darlene Tottress of East Point, GA; nephew, Vernon L. Logan Sr. of Muskogee, OK; great nephews, Vernon L. Logan Jr. (Tina) of Rialto, CA; and Dwayne K. Logan of Fullerton, CA; niece, Rena M. Logan of San Diego, CA; great nieces, Karen L. Logan of Temecula. CA and Trisha R.
