Roy Jean Randall Mason, born August 16, 1945, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Thunie Mae Gibson and Roy Childs, entered eternal rest on November 24, 2025.
She later moved from Albuquerque to San Diego with her two children, Betty and Henry
Randall, where she met her devoted husband, Kenneth Mason. The two became inseparable and built a loving life together.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers; Pretis Charles and Johnny Henry.
She leaves behind her husband Kenneth, her children; Betty J. Randall and Henry Randall, her grandchildren; Timothy Mixon, Terry Mixon, Jamal Randall, Rashad Randall, Tatanesha Bethea, Dylan Bennett, Tasha Cheeks, and Candice Hernandez, her siblings; Frankie Ray, Beverly Ann, and Helen Jean, along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Jean loved cooking, dancing, playing dominoes, watching scary movies, and listening to her favorite singer Barry White. She made every child around her dance and constantly entertained her friends by having the grandchildren perform. When she called out “Get it, Suge”, everyone knew she was pleased and full of joy. She expressed her love through extraordinary meals, heartfelt support, and by always being present for her family and friends.
A beloved sister, mother, wife, and grandmother, Jean’s vibrant spirit and joyful energy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though we will miss her dearly, we rejoice in knowing she is now dancing with the stars.
“Get it, Suge!”
