The Pepperdine Waves spent little time commanding an early lead in their 98-90 victory in
Jenny Craig Pavilion. Zion Betha’s 3-point basket seven minutes into the game gave the Waves a 16-8 lead they never relented. Pepperdine notched 55 points and took an unsurmountable 55-40 lead going into halftime.

The Waves held that fifteen-point lead until 8 minutes remaining in the game when Kean Webb dropped a layup in the basket after Joey Chamma dished him an assist, bringing the lead down to 78-70 Pepperdine. The two Freshman, both starters, ironically posted career highs for points scored as the Torros recorded their highest points scored this season.
Chamma recorded 24 points, while Webb scored 16 points. The comeback effort did produce a bit of drama as San Diego pulled to within four points with 53 seconds remaining at 92-88.

Pepperdine closed out the victory in clutch fashion-hitting their free throws to finish with an 8-point victory. San Diego hosts Loyola Marymount this Saturday at 3 pm.
