Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church held its 150th anniversary on the last weekend of July at their historical building on 3045 Greely Street in Sherman Heights.
The congregation, under the leadership of Pastor Dennis R. Anderson, and the community had the opportunity to celebrate this historical milestone together.
The church also used this momentous occasion to pay homage and honor to former members of the church who had recently passed away, displaying 8×10 framed photographs.
Community Baptist Church, with special guest speaker Pastor Richard G. White, pulled up to show their support and fellowship with their partners in Christ. Pastor Richard handled a good portion of the preaching duties, sharing the word and congratulating the anniversary celebrants on their very special occasion.
Food, singing, preaching, praising, and good old-fashioned fellowshipping was how they celebrated at 3045 Greely Street.
“I came here with my church, Community Baptist, to celebrate the 150th with Zion, and my brother Pastor Richard was the guest preacher,” attendee Mike White shared. “150 years…that’s a long-long time, and they are still here. To God be the glory. That’s amazing.”
