The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to extend the Emergency Temporary Lodging Program to June 21.
The Board voted unanimously to allocate an additional $9 million to support the extension.
The Board also voted to provide $4.6 million in funding to the San Diego Housing Commission, National City Housing Authority, and City of Oceanside Housing Authority to help residents transition out of the Emergency Temporary Lodging Program.
The program, which has provided hotel rooms and food to nearly 900 families displaced by flooding from the Jan. 22 storm, was scheduled to end on May 11.
The County’s Emergency Temporary Lodging program, which began on Feb. 12, was created to provide emergency lodging for flood victims until Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance funds were available or until local housing authorities could identify longer-term housing solutions for impacted residents.
