Teresia Ann Harvey-Jenkins was born on April 22, 1957, in Timpson, Texas, to Ethel and James Bussey. As the youngest of four children, Teresia shared a special bond with her family. In pursuit of better opportunities, the family relocated to California, where Teresia completed her education and flourished both personally and professionally.
Teresia’s love for her children, grandchildren, and nieces was boundless. An exceptional cook and baker, she delighted in preparing meals that brought her loved ones together. Her passion for home decor added a warm, personal touch to every holiday and family gathering, reflecting her deeply family-oriented nature. There is a special place held in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing Teresia. Known for her dependability, she was always ready with a kind word or helpful advice.
On June 20, 2024, Teresia gained her wings and entered eternal life.
She was preceded in death by parents; James and Ethel, brother Joseph, and nephew James, Jr.
Teresia’s memory will be cherished by her surviving brothers; James and Kenneth, children; Derrick (Ina), Michael (Amanda), Shameca (Aric), and Myisha (Tyree), grandchildren; Junior, Devin, Derius, Destiny, Jocey, Marc, Michael, Jaslynn, Cameron, Dallas, Tiana, and Amaya, nieces; Lateefah (Johnny) and Aleeyah, and a host of extended family and friends.
Teresia’s legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will forever be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
