On Saturday February 1st the San Diego Voice & Viewpoint Newspaper will celebrate 54 years of service to the San Diego Community. This historic event acknowledges the more than 5 decades that this newspaper has been the keeper of the history, life and flame of San Diego’s African American community. You as members of this community who have allowed the newspaper to share with all of us your joys, pains, loses and achievements, represent the very lifeline that ties all of us together.
We have organized our 54th Anniversary Gala to celebrate with you our achievements. Because
we know that these are difficult financial times for everyone, we have priced this event at $55.00 per person or $100 per couple, $45.00 for students with valid I.D. and $600 per table. We are charging roughly $1.00 for each year of publication and we are keeping the event in the community by holding it at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation as a means of keeping cost down. We invite you to not only purchase a ticket to support this event, but to also share the word of this activity with many of your friends and neighbors whose lives have also been touched by the Voice & Viewpoint newspaper.
We encourage you to purchase your tickets early as this event is expected to sell out. This dinner/dance and awards recognition format will be one of the premier activities of 2014 Black History month and we hope you will join us. Tickets may be purchased at the Voice & Viewpoint offices and you may find more details on our web site at www.sdvoice.info or visit us on Facebook, in addition to each copy of the Voice & Viewpoint in the weeks ahead.
