On Thanksgiving Day at 16th and Island Street in Downtown, San Diego, Pastor Steve Smith and friends held their annual free Thanksgiving Day dinner.
The generous Thanksgiving Day feast came with plenty of singing, praising, scripture readings, group prayer, and inspiring testimonials from an array of speakers.
Some of those powerful testimonies provoked tears from both the speakers and attendees. After some group prayers, hugs, recognition of the higher power, and a special scripture reading by Evangelist Orned Gabriel, it was time for the big feast.
“We’ve been doing this every Thanksgiving for 19 years now, Glory be to God! We also celebrate Christmas here,” shared Pastor Smith. “We want to spread God’s word and love and help the less fortunate,” he continued.
Thanks to the generous donations from Jerrett Pryor, Ron Nibbles, Barry Barker, Armondo Laguna, James Norris, Al Hernandez, Manny Dinn, and Mr. “Sweet” Pete, people were able to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal.
