BROADWAY/SAN DIEGO’S BIGGEST SEASON EVER ANNOUNCED

(San Diego, Calif.) –Broadway/San Diego ~ A Nederlander Presentation is excited to announce the 2017-2018 season and the San Diego premiere engagement of HAMILTON. This is the biggest season ever with shows direct from Broadway, mega-hits from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Rodgers and Hammerstein, and returning San Diego favorites all sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union®.

The 2017-2018 Season begins with the most award-winning musical of the 2015-16 Broadway season, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS. Then, take a voyage under the sea with one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories with Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID. The world’s greatest love story continues with this spellbinding sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s biggest hit in LOVE NEVER DIES. The Webber hits keep coming with his most-recent rock musical sensation, SCHOOL OF ROCK. One of two Rodgers and Hammerstein classics coming to San Diego this season and winner of four 2015 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival, is THE KING AND I. Rounding out the season is a show that will have you dancing in the aisles with the inspiring true story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan in ON YOUR FEET! about two people who believed in their talent, each other, and their road to becoming an international sensation.

Added season events this year include returning San Diego audience favorites like Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, DIRTY DANCING and STOMP, and two of Broadway’s longest running shows, LES MISÉRABLES and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West
Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new
nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and
Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.
