The County of San Diego Housing & Community Development Services (HCDS) will open the FY 2027–28 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application period from September 21–October 30, 2026. Proposals will be due by 3:00 PM on October 30, 2026.
CDBG funds support eligible public facilities, infrastructure, public services, and economic development activities that benefit low‑ and moderate‑income residents in unincorporated areas. Resident submissions may recommend projects but do not receive funding directly.

Application Assistance
HCDS will offer a virtual application information session and offer one‑on‑one technical assistance for applicants seeking guidance on eligibility, project requirements, and completing the online application.
- Who Should Attend: Non-profit, County department, or Participating city staff who have a potential CDBG project in mind, private citizens who want to learn more about funding their CDBG ideas.
- What to Expect: Question and Answer sessions, 1:1 technical assistance
