Evangelist Barbara McDaniels

Our Mother Barbara McDaniels was born August 23rd, 1936 in Jersey City New Jersey. She was born to parents Elsie Sizemore – Brisby and Jesse Brisby at Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. Barbara attended Lincoln High School in the Jersey City school district. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was married in 1952 to Cornell McDaniels Sr. from this union they had five children, Cornell Jr, Christine, Evonne, Robert and Glenn. After being a devoted stay and home mother for many years Barbara decided to continue her education by attending and graduating from Jersey City State College with a degree in Psychology. After achieving her degree Barbara worked as a Counselor in the East Orange New Jersey school system. She had a gift of encouraging others especially the youth. She had a heart for the young people, inspiring them to grow and develop their God given talents while working in the after care school programs. She was a faithful member of the Church of God in Christ in Jersey City for many years before moving to San Diego in 1991 to be with her daughter Christine. Barbara became an active member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Cooper. Using her gifts as a leader, speaker and an Evangelist. Barbara loved the Lord and could be seen praising him outwardly by running around the church. When Barbara was not working she loved spending her extra time being a seamstress making clothes for her two daughters Christine and Evonne. Barbara had a flair for fashion and loved dressing up by adorning herself with the latest fashion outfits, and to top it off with one of her many hats, and fur stole. She resided in Oceanside, Ca until her death. After many years on the battlefield on Saturday morning April 22nd, 2016 Barbara was called from labor to reward. She is preceded in her home going by her husband, Elder Cornell McDaniels Sr., daughter Evonne McDaniels, daughter Christine Grace (Robert), and son Glenn McDaniels. She leaves to mourn, her 2 sons Cornell McDaniels Jr., (Mary) of San Diego, CA, Robert McDaniels, (Yuko), Vallejo, CA, one sister Irene Bell of Bayonne, New Jersey, Edward Brisby of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 10 grandchildren Kimberly Smith, Sharie McDaniels, Diana McDaniels, Tiffany McGowen (Lonnie), Crystal Barnett, Gabriel, Khalil, Faheem, and Najee, Muwwakkil, and Sharon Wright (Marquie) 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
