San Diego, CA: Jason Brown also known as JB Saxx is destined to be one of the greats. He sings, he plays the sax, guitar, keyboard and get this…..he dances too! At 6’6” he is a sight to see as JB relishes performing in every way. The saxophone is obviously his best friend and he squeezes every last drop of emotion from every song he plays with it. On Thursday, July 16, 2015 Brown released his 2nd smooth jazz cd “Under the Covers”.  JB has many influences such as Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical and Country. Artists that have influenced his style includes Brian McKnight, Eric Benet, Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright and John Legend.

Brown believes what sets him apart from other musicians is the fact that his music has a divine message and story. His father passed away when he was 13 years old. To overcome the sadness he was feeling from the loss of his father he directed his energy towards music. His mother bought him a saxophone and the rest is history.

Brwon began playing the sax at a number of church events. His audience was so overwhelmed with his music that they encouraged his mother to put him in the studio. At 16 years old JB recorded his first project called “Jason’s Beginning”.  This self taught musician plays like someone is actually singing through the saxophone. JB retorts” I understand how it feels to be a kid with a dream of wanting to do something great. My dream is to inspire other kids, and musicians to go after their dreams. When I perform, I am in my comfort zone and I always connect with my audience.”

Among the number of guests in attendance avid jazz fan Iris Trammel states, “I first saw Jason Brown several ago at Humphrey’s Backstage. He impressed me so much that I bought his CD after the first break. When I noticed that he was having a CD release party at Felix’s BBQ with Soul I just knew I had to be there! I was certainly not disappointed. His songs from his new CD, “Under the Covers”, is a mix of new music and classic love songs. And again I bought the CD during the first break.”

JB Saxx shares, “This cd took a year and a half to produce. It was a challenge to record as I work full-time during the day in the property management field, perform at night and fulfill my duties as a father and husband. Nevertheless my passion and determination brought me through the challenges. “Under the Covers” features 5 original songs and 11 cover songs and tonight I am blessed to celebrate the release of my second smooth jazz cd and 6th album with so many family, friends and fans. We have a packed house! I love my supporters including those that came as far away as Los Angeles. My wife told me that they had to turn some people away because they had no more room in the restaurant. One of the highlights of tonight is seeing my youngest son selling cd’s and playing his favorite song upon his request. I also received comments from fans that stated I have a goose bump voice and play the sax sweet like candy. I am truly blessed!” JB Saxx’s cd “Under the Covers” can be downloaded on iTunes and fans can follow him on Facebook or Reverbnation.com/JBSaxx, www.facebook.com/jb.saxx
