JOSEPH MARVIN WYNNE was born June 11, 1954 in Des Arc, Arkansas. He was the only son, along with four sisters born to loving parents, Joyce Walker Wynne and the late Raymond Timothy Wynne. The family later moved to Memphis Tennessee, where Joseph began his education. During his teen years, the family moved to Rialto, California, where he attended and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1973. He furthered his education by enrolling at California State University of San Bernardino. In 1974, Joseph voluntarily enlisted into the United States Army where he served his country with dignity and honor during the Vietnam Conflict and Persian Gulf War. He was stationed stateside as well as deployment to Germany. In 1979, after five years of active duty, Joseph received his Honorable Discharge. Afterwards, he continued his education and earned a Dental Technician’s Degree while working and living in Los Angeles, California. Soon after, he relocated to San Diego, California, where he began employment at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the Facility Environmental Management Department. There, he received many Certificates of Appreciation, Outstanding Rating Certificates as well as Employee of the Year Award. While in the Army, Joseph married his high school sweetheart, Olivia Brown. The two later divorced amicably after six years of marriage. No children were born to this union. Joseph will be greatly remembered for the love he had for his family. He loved them all unconditionally and they dearly loved him. His many nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart and they knew it. He enjoyed meeting people and he had the “Gift of Gab”. People simply gravitated to his joyful charisma, kindness and knowledge. He also enjoyed a variety of sports, especially football and was an avid Raider’s fan. He also loved tinkering with cars and was an astute history buff. Joseph dearly loved his mother and he took excellent care of her. He was the “Greatest Son” a mother could ever ask for. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and love him. The world has truly lost a “Gentle Giant”. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Brenda Adams and Janice Mitchell. On Thursday, July 21, 2016, Joseph Marvin Wynne slipped away peacefully in his sleep.
