Joy Ann Stephens
May 12, 1940 – February 4, 2016
Joy Ann Stephens lived to be seventy-five years old, until Our Lord called her Home on February 4, 2016. She was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas before moving to San Diego, California where she became a resident for sixty years. Joy is survived by her seven children; Renee Stephens, Lynn Stephens, Clifford Stephens Jr., Kimberly Addie, Steven Berry, Gregory Rosemore Sr. and Carla Stephens, her ten grandchildren; Jameel, Kyron, Tonia, Kayla, Gregory Jr., Paris, Ashley, Carla, Stephanie and Jordin and her three great-grandchildren; Gannon, Trinity and Averie. Of her immediate family, her mother, Letha Mae Anderson and her younger sister, Elnora “Little Sister”, preceded Joy. Joy worked as a CNA in San Diego for a good portion of her lifetime, but her proudest accomplishment she would say was her family. Together, they share some of the best memories of Joy, and to them and many others, Joy was one of the funniest people they knew; most often by not even trying, but simply by the way she told stories. Joy is loved and will be missed by many. May Joy rest peacefully, while others rejoice in her memory. Services were held Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Memory Chapel of Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary; interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
