For the 4th consecutive year, Lizz Russell, San Diego’s Celebrity Fashion Designer, has collaborated with the Westgate Hotel to bring an enchanted evening of opulence and glamour by presenting Cocktails and Couture 2014, “Runway To Red Carpet,” held on Friday, May 23, 2014, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Versailles Ballroom, Westgate Hotel.
The evening’s agenda is packed with ritzy performances by special guests, gorgeous male hosts & fashion models, the induction of an annual awards presentation, and ending with a book-signing authored by Lizz Russell and Inez Odom. An evening of shameless indulgence awaits every guest who wants to lift their spirits and enjoy the evening with others who take pleasure in top-notch entertainment.
Guests will enjoy cocktails and gourmet teas along with a delectable menu of delicacies by award winning Chef Fabrice Hardel of the Westgate Hotel. A line-up of luxurious fashions will preview the new Spring creations of The Lizz Russell Collection, a portfolio of custom and one-of-a-kind evening wear, signature handbags, casual resort wear, jewelry and accessories. The Mistress of Ceremonies will be San Diego’s designated “It girl of I.T.,” Kathy David, CEO of IT TechPros, named 2013 Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year and co-wrote along with best-selling author Brian Tracy, The Ultimate Success Guide: The World’s Leading Experts Reveal their Secrets for Success in Business and in Life.” Lizz Russell’s runway fashions will be accessorized by the jewelry collection of Brandy Kevin Russell, aka Princess Brandy, who recently designed the bridal Tiara of celebrity Kandi Burress of Real Housewives of Atlanta and as seen in InTouch Weekly Magazine April 2014, and a jewelry designer of the Single Ladies TV series on VH-1. The evening will end with a book-signing of “I’m Smiling on the Inside,” a personal story by Lizz Russell and Inez Odom. Fashions, jewelry, accessories and books will be available for purchase onsite at the end of the evening.
May is GBS/CIDP Awareness Month. Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) are auto-immune disorders that attack your nerve cells and affect thousands of people every year. The evening will spotlight Lizz Russell’s 30th year as a GBS survivor. Lizz will introduce the new Robert & Estelle Benson Award, named in honor of the husband and wife founders of the GBS/CIDP Foundation International, a worldwide organization. She will award the first recipient, Dr. Danny Joya of Encinitas, known as “the man who never stops fighting,” because of his indomitable spirit that has inspired others for over 23 years. Lizz Russell and Julie Jukich are San Diego’s liaisons for the local GBS chapter and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the GBS/CIDP Foundation International.
