Lola V. Smith was born in Simpson County, Mississippi, on January 24, 1946. Lola obtained her education there and moved to San Diego, CA, in 1965. Lola work status was Childcare, and she worked in that field for over 20 years until she retired and became the woman of leisure at home.
Lola loved to listen to music and watch lifetime movies, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, and any other gospel programs that are on television. Lola was a member of St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ until her health started to decline.
Lola passed away on July 16, 2024.
Lola was preceded in death by her beloved parents; K.C. Camell and Mallie Stringer, ex-husband Jessie William Smith Sr., daughter Patricia Ann Smith, granddaughter Shameka Washington, 4 sisters; MaryJane Camell, Rose Camell, Lillie Johnson, and Bertha Smith, and 3 brothers; T.C Camell, W.L Camell, and Sollie Smith.
Left to treasure Lola’s legacy and memories is her son Jessie Smith Jr., daughter Latoya Cheers, 6 grandchildren; Jessie Smith III, Shkeia Watson, Jamon Smith, Vincent Washington Jr., Markeia Smith, and Jerry Stevenson Jr., 13 great grandchildren, daughter-In-law Diane Smith, 6 brothers; J.C. Camell, Joe Lewis Camell, Sylvester Camell, Donald Smith, Joe Earl Smith, and Willie Earl Smith, 2 sisters; Catherine Brown and Mary Ball, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all are mourning her passing.
