Major Verneir Godwin

Major Verneir Godwin was born August 07, 1952 to Senicia Godwin and the late Mary Louise Godwin. Major attended Will Anger in Serra Mesa and Chesteron Elementary in Linda Vista, CA. He attended Montgomery Jr. and then Kearny Senior High School, where he graduated and received his high school diploma. Major fell in love with Dana, they married and to this union two children were born; daughter Bianca and son Major Jr. (Little Major). Major was a man of many talents; a very good artist and could fix ANYTHING. He enjoyed cooking, eating popcorn and drinking Pepsi. Major always found a way to make light of a situation; he was a jokester and when times got touch, he knew where to go. Major was extremely loving to everyone, not just family; he was a people person and would never say no to anyone who needed his help. Major left this life on Saturday, January 23, 2016 on his mother’s birthday. She must have been calling him to those family members who preceded him in death: mother, Mary, his brother Seneca III, his sister Sheryl, his younger brother Michael and his loving wife, Dana.  Major leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Senicia Jr.; his loving children Bianca Godwin and Major Godwin Jr.; sisters, Glennita Ollison (Lawrence) and Veronica Godwin; one brother, Bryon Godwin; grandchildren, Little Major III and Maliha; nephews, Anthony and Micahel Godwin Jr.; niece, Nicole Godwin as well as a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.
