Marvin Hinds

May 17, 1959 – January 19, 2017

Marvin Hinds was born on May 17, 1957 in San Diego, California to Annie Bell and James Hinds. Marvin and his twin brother Martin led to a blissful union of nine children. Marvin attended Knox Elementary School,  O’Farrell Junior High School and Abraham Lincoln Senior High School where excelled as Hornet-Statement Student. Marvin grew up in San Diego, he had wonderful and exciting childhood as well as adulthood he to party in San Diego, California. Marvin worked as a security officer for many years and later his desires were to own his own security company. Marvin was better known as “Marvelous Marv”, “Starving Marvin”, “Excited and Tip–Toe” just a few of his AKA’s, his favorite saying was “you know that.” He enjoyed watching old Kung Fu and Western movies, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. If you knew Marvin and wanted to find him, you knew exactly where to find him at the Casino or at a card table. We called him the “Tonkologist.”  He was love and respected in his wins in the card game. Marvin was proceeded in death by his mother Annie Bell Hinds, Father James Hinds, sister Cynthia Cantley-Malory and twin brother Martin James Hinds. He leaves to cherish his memories.

Four Sisters: Lueiza Young, Linda Cantley, Janice Hinds and Gwendolyn Hinds.

Three Brothers: Rodney Hinds, Roscoe Hinds and Terry Hinds.

He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.Services were held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary Memory Chapel; interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery.​
