Rwanda: Meddy Nominated for MTV Africa Music Awards 2016

USA based Rwandan, Medard Ngabo, best known as Meddy, as as you read this on cloud nine after he was recognized for his outstanding music progress to be handed a chance to challenge at MTV Africa Music Awards aka (MAMAs) 2016 slated for October 22nd 2016 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The 27 year-old R&B star was nominated in the MAMA’s ‘Listener’s Choice’ category on the same shortlist as Yamoto Band(Tanzania), Burna Boy (Nigeria), Adiouza (Senegal), Kansoul (Kenya), Prince Kaybee (South Africa), Zaho (Algeria), Kiss Daniel (Nigeria), E.L (Ghana), Bebe Cool (Uganda), Latifa (Tunisia), Saad Lamjarred (Morocco), Tamer Hosny (Egypt), Jay Rox (Zambia), The Dogg (Namibia), Sidiki Diabate (Mali), Adiouza (Senegal), Den G (Liberia), Jah Prayzah (Zimbabwe), LIJ Michael (Ethiopia) na Messias Maroca (Mozambique).

It seems Meddy was lucky to appear at the MAMA 2016 Awards thanks to the ‘Listener’s Choice’ Awards, the latest category which was included later on Sunday.

 The country should feel the proud for the ‘Ntawamusimbura’ singer for being the only Rwandan artist nominated for this prestigious award. We all know Meddy can’t wait to lift the Rwandan flag high as he picks his award in three weeks time.

Meanwhile East Africa, in general, is also there to be represented by different artists. Tanzania will be represented by Vanessa Mdee, Diamond, Yamoto Band, Raymond, and Ali Kiba, Ugandans have also been listed that include Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah Karungi and Bebe Cool. Sauti Sol boys will represent Kenya without question.
