On December 31, 2013 SDSAAAA (Michael L. Turner, President) closed 2013 and brought in the New Year in grand form by having their New Years Eve grand gala at the Hilton Hotel Mission Valley. This gala is another wonderful endeavor to raise funds for the purpose of providing educational assistance and scholarships to college bound students. This year SDSAAAA awarded four graduating seniors of African American descent with scholarships. 2013 scholarship recipients were: Ashley Zollicoffer, San Diego H. S.; Charles Taylor, Mount Miguel H. S.; Kortni Phillips, Kearny H. S.; and Robert Phillips, Helix H. S.

“Our mission is to promote cooperation and maintain a network of individuals and groups to secure educational assistance and scholarships. The San Diego chapter will actively promote events and cultural activities that will positively affect members and supporters of SDSAAAA. Our goal is to enhance educational opportunities by equipping students with resources for college tuition, the purchase of equipment and school supplies.”

Micheal L. Turner also says, “I would like to say thanks for supporting our organization another year. Your support and dedication means our continued success. As President, I am honored to be of service to SDSAAAA, its members and volunteers. Happy New Year and thank you so much for supporting SDSAAAA may God Bless you all.”
