San Diego State’s Mission Valley River Park, located at River Park Road, San Diego, CA 92108, is now open to the public for recreation. The community got a first look at the completed 34-acre river park at the official ribbon-cutting held Wednesday, March 6th. The park features multi-use recreational fields, more than four miles of walking and biking trails, a children’s play area, a fitness area and more.
Beyond the recreational facilities, the park is expected to become a hub for community engagement, a sense of connection and community well-being with restored native habitats that invite local flora and fauna back into the ecosystem.
The park’s completion fulfilled the university’s promise to develop a river park before beginning vertical development. The park is currently available for casual recreation and not for scheduled events, practices or games. For more information visit missionvalley.sdsu.edu/explore/riverpark.
