As the youth track and field season nears its conclusion, San Diego’s top young sprinters, jumpers, throwers, and distance runners could be seen competing at Patrick Henry High School.
It was the USA Rockets Youth Track Club’s turn to play host.
God’s Speed, Mercury, Flo-Jo International, JVA, and Havoc with the Rockets were some of the teams that showed up and represented to the best of their abilities last Saturday from the early morning until the early evening.
Congratulations to early riser and Champion Zora North, San Diego’s latest 14-year-old youth sensation, for her invitation to this year’s BROOKS Invitational to compete in the 400m dash at Seattle, WA, June 6th-8th. The BROOKS is a national invitation for the best middle school 400-meter girl runners in the nation.Her very impressive 400M mark of 54.82 currently leads the country.
Zori, the record-setting high achiever, will also compete in the 100-200-400m at the Nike Invitational at Oregon in two weeks. She also leads San Diego County in the 100m-11.93, 200m-24.24, and the 800m 2:20.71.
She is a product of Mercury T&F Club and Shaheed Speed, coached by Haneef Shaheed.
