Tyrone Johnson
November 22, 1951 – March 31, 2016
TYRONE JOHNSON was born November 22, 1951, in Clayton, Alabama. He was the fifth of eight children born to the late Lang Sr. and Melnee Johnson. In 1957, his mother and grandmother moved the family to San Diego, California, where Tyrone attended Emerson Elementary School, Memorial Junior High School and graduated from San Diego High School with the “Class of 1970”. Tyrone joined New Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church at a very young age and was Baptize under the spiritual guidance of the late Pastor LaSalle Jones. During the mid-1970s, Tyrone began his employed with Atlas Chemical Company as a driver. He made many long, lasting friendships along the way. He retired in 1993 after seventeen years of exemplary service. Tyrone was a very carrying and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was indeed, the best friend one could ever have. He loved his family unconditionally and they truly loved him. He had a very special and loving bond with his best friend, his son Darnell. He adored his grandchildren and they adored him. Tyrone was a lover of all all sports particularly, baseball and football and was an avid Padre and Charger fan. He will be deeply missed by his family and all of those who came to know him. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and two brothers, Ricky Johnson Sr. and Lang Johnson Jr. On Thursday, March 31, 2016, Tyrone Johnson was called from earthly labor to eternal rest. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Darnell Terry; four grandchildren, Sarai, Darnell Jr., Selae and Reminise Terry all of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Willie Johnson of San Diego, CA and Michael Harris of Sacramento, CA.; three sisters, Annie Jackson of Atlanta, GA, Louise Mothershed of San Diego, CA. and Betty Johnson of Surprise, AZ.; A special cousin, Willie Pearl Clayton of San Diego, CA; twenty-four nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing, yet celebrate his life. Services were held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Memory Chapel of Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary.
