Victor Jess Edwards
April 3rd, 1958 – April 11th, 2016
Victor Jess Edwards was born on April 3rd, 1958 in Baylor County Texas; He moved to San Diego California in nineteen hundred and sixty-two (1962), at the age of four. He was the second of four children born to the union of Cleveland Edwards and Naomi Edwards. He completed his education at, Stockton Elementary, Baker Elementary, and Chollas Elementary. He also attended Gompers Junior High, and graduated from Lincoln High School, all in San Diego, California. Victor accepted Jesus Christ at a very young age at Greater Fellowship Baptist Church, in the year of nineteen hundred and seventy (1970), under Reverend Thompson. He later joined AACTS International Ministries, Inc. under Dr. Brenda Harper, Pastor, & Bishop Andrew Harper, Overseer, in November 2015. Victor rededicated his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved talking about his awesome relationship with God. After graduation he joined the United States Army, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas where he served for four years. While in Texas, his passion for music, led him to be instrumental in forming a band called Natural Look, where he composed beautiful music. He was also a lead vocalist in a band called the Grand City Band, where he composed music by ear. He loved the many arts, such as singing, and dancing, he danced with the African Boots Dance Company, which was called The Boot Connection. He was truly an Artist. He began to do music and beats with young men in the neighborhood. He was also an awesome drawing artistic; he loved drawing people and animals. His favorite animal to draw was an eagle. He was loved by many… Victor was very independent and he loved helping many love ones and friends. His Aka, (nick name), was Vamp. On Monday, April 11, 2016, Victor Jess Edwards was called from earthly labor to eternal rest. He is survived by three siblings, sister, Patricia Segrest of San Diego, CA, brothers, Gary Edwards and Anthony Edwards of San Diego, CA, daughter Natasha Matson of Las Vegas, NV and son, Imshala (Candace) Edwards of Mexico City, Mexico, nephews Dicey Griffin of Los Angeles, CA, Imshay Segrest of San Diego, CA, Kazi Cooksey of San Diego, CA; niece Cheree Edwards, Barkia Edwards, Maskekia Edwards, Roneka Edwards Taveon Edwards, DaJanna Edwards of San Diego, CA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
