Voters Skeptical of Vice President Harris’s Presidential Election Chances

The survey, which questioned registered voters’ opinions on potential Democratic nominees, found that 14% believed Harris had a high chance of becoming president, while 20% considered it only somewhat likely. On the other hand, 37% stated it was not at all likely that Harris would be able to secure victory in an election.

(US MEDIA GROUP) – In the midst of speculation surrounding President Joe Biden’s advanced age and potential for a second term, many are turning their attention to Vice President Kamala Harris and her readiness to take on the role of Commander-in-Chief. However, a recent survey has found that the majority of voters do not believe Harris could win an election as the Democratic nominee.

According to a Politico/Morning Consult poll released on June 12, only one-third of voters think Harris could secure a win as the Democratic presidential candidate. While Harris previously stated she is prepared to step into the role of president “if necessary” due to Biden’s age, this poll raises questions about her chances of success as a nominee.

The survey, which questioned registered voters’ opinions on potential Democratic nominees, found that 14% believed Harris had a high chance of becoming president, while 20% considered it only somewhat likely. On the other hand, 37% stated it was not at all likely that Harris would be able to secure victory in an election.

Interestingly, the poll also revealed that 21% of voters would prefer Harris to be the Democratic nominee if Biden was not in the running. This puts her ahead of other potential candidates, with only 10% of voters preferring California Governor Gavin Newsom or former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg for the role. However, over 40% of voters remained unsure or indifferent about their preferred candidate.

The results of this survey are indicative of a larger issue within the Democratic party, as ‘POLITICO’ reported that 42% of voters have a very unfavorable impression of both Harris and Biden. This could prove troublesome for the party in the upcoming elections as they try to secure a victory and maintain control of the White House.

As the speculation surrounding Biden’s age and Harris’ readiness continues to swirl, it remains to be seen if the vice president will ultimately be able to overcome doubts and secure a victory as the Democratic nominee. Until then, the focus will remain on potential candidates and their ability to lead the nation forward.
