Local resident, William Carter, recently received the distinguished SDSU ZAHN Award. Mr. Carter is a San Diego entrepreneur, community leader and collegiate award winner. He majored in Leadership Studies at SDSU and, due to his academic diligence and leadership skills, he was selected as this year’s ZAHN Spirit of Innovation Award recipient.
The ZAHN is the University’s highest honor, awarded to a graduating senior. The award recognizes exceptional achievement in leadership, academic excellence, service and contributions to the SDSU and comes with a $25,000 check.
Carter served as President Epsilon charter of KAPPA ALPHA Psi fraternity, INC,
President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and President of Greek life activities board.
Through these roles, he helped strengthen student engagement, foster collaborations among organizations and advocate for student success.
Outside of campus Carter is the founder and CEO of Celebrity Entertainment Group, a San Diego based company focused on entertainment, hospitality and community engagement.
His entrepreneurial spirit began at 8 years old selling pretzels from the driveway of his home, and has evolved into a career dedicated to creating memorable experiences and building connections throughout the region.
A passionate mentor, youth football coach and advocate, Carter remained committed to empowering others through leadership and entrepreneurship.
His selection as the ZAHN award recipient reflects a long-life dedicated to making a positive impact on campus and throughout the SD community. Congratulations!
