On Saturday May 3, 2014 The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 310 held their Inaugural Boat Cruise Fundraiser on the Bahia’s Williams D. Evans Stern Wheeler on beautiful Mission Bay. Coordinated by Ms. Margaretta Hickman, it was truly an event to remember. The mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to serve veterans, their families and their communities.
The members and guests of the auxiliary stepped out in their eloquent attire and enjoyed an evening full of food in the form of a four course meal, and dancing to the soulful sounds of D.J. John Phillips of Golden Voice Production – all while cruising around the bay.
Past District Commander ED. Grimsley introduced the chapter’s distinguished President, Ms. Quillia Lynch Cook, who welcomed all of the guests as well as thanked them for attending, which included individuals from had guest from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Arizona; Kansas City, Missouri; Jamul, Ca. and other cities in San Diego County. Each guests received door prizes and Ms.Thomasena Martin along with Ms. Mildred Roberts, ensured that the door prizes were placed in winning hands. Gifts included gift baskets that were crafted by Soretta’s Diamonds and Pearls.
A special thanks is given to the committee that worked with yours truly, Margaretta Hickman to put this event together were Auxiliary Members Mildred Roberts, Dorothy Nickson, Thomasena Martin, Margaret Seaverson and Real Estate Broker Frances Jackson & Soretta’s Diamonds & Pearls Gift Baskets.
After the cruise the guest enjoyed relaxing in two Elegant Hospitality Suites stacked with delicious hors d’oeuvre on the Bahia Bay Waterfront hosted by President Quillia Lynch Cook and Margaretta Hickman.
