An amazing evening of glamour will be presented at Lizz Russell’s annual fundraiser , Cocktails and Couture 2015, “Embrace Your Body,” in partnering with The Council for Supplier Diversity which will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015, 6:30-8:00 p.m., in the Versailles Ballroom, at The Westgate Hotel. The evening’s agenda will feature spectacular entertainment by special guests, gorgeous fashion models which will include La Jolla own Margo Schwab founder of San Diego Social Diaries which brings the best of social coverage to its many readers making it the number one source for social coverage also during the show the second annual GSB/CIDP patient award presentation will commence. Guests will enjoy cocktails and gourmet teas along with a delectable menu of appetizers by award winning Chef Fabrice Hardel of The Westgate Hotel. A line-up of luxurious fashions will preview the new Spring creations of The Lizz Russell Collection, a portfolio of custom and one-of-a-kind evening wear and accessories. The Mistress of Ceremonies Tangi Miller, star of the hit WB series “Felicity.” Ms. Miller recently directed the T.V. show, “Diva Diaries” and she can be seen in this year’s film “72 Hours.” The evening will end with the book-release of “Smiling on the Inside,” a personal story by Lizz Russell and Inez M. Odom, plus an opportunity to purchase The Lizz Russell Collection hot off the runway.
May is GBS/CIDP Awareness Month. Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) are auto-immune disorders that attack your nerve cells and affect dozens of residents in San Diego every year and thousands of people nationwide. The evening will celebrate Lizz Russell’s 31st year as a GBS survivor, and Lizz will introduce the 2nd Annual Robert & Estelle Benson Award, named in honor of the husband and wife founders of the GBS/CIDP Foundation International, a worldwide organization. Lizz will award the second recipient, Sofia Lamagui of San Diego, known as “the shining star,” because of her spirit to inspire others has sweep through families around her. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the GBS/CIDP Foundation International that is committed to providing support to those affected by these disorders so that every patient obtains an early diagnosis, proper treatment & the opportunity for a full recovery.
