The compassionate folks at the Lamplighters non-profit organization held their annual Scholarship Fashion Show Fundraiser last Saturday at Bayview Baptist Church.

The purpose of the special event was to raise money for community high school students who wish to pursue their higher-learning ambitions.

“We have been doing scholarship fundraisers for about eight years now, and every kid that we have given a scholarship to has graduated from college. It doesn’t get better than that, and of course, we want to thank everybody for coming out and supporting us again,” Lamplighter executive Rodney Carroll shared.

The Lamplighter’s added a western theme to this year’s show, featuring models with cowboy hats, boots, custom-made clothing, and a whole lot of old-fashioned swag.

The volunteer models also worked the runway in an assortment of tailored suits, team-themed athletic apparel, and colorful casual wear.

The crowd of well-fed attendees, thanks to the catering expertise of Herm & Herm Catering, loudly applauded the sharply dressed catwalkers, showing their support for the event’s worthy cause and a job well done.

Attendees were also treated to a raffle with a table full of gifts.

“Lamplighters are doing great things for the community, and we will continue to do what we can to help, and we will do this again next year, and we are looking forward to everybody coming out to support us,” Fashion model, Robert Lee, shared.
