Keith M. Shivers

KEITH M. SHIVERS was born on June 9, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to loving parents, Ernest and Middie. He received his education in Detroit, where he graduated from Southeastern High School in 1972. After receiving a scholarship in track, Keith continued his education at Ohio State University, where he received an Associate Degree. In 1973, Keith enlisted into the United States Navy, where he served as a radio man and eventually moved up in rank to Chief Petty Officer (E-7). He retired in 1997 after 24 years of service to his county. While in the service, He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Chapman University. In the early 1980s, Keith met and married the lovely Sharon Robertson. Their union was blessed with their only child, Pierre. Keith was a longtime member of a local San Diego Masonic Lodge. He was a great professional disc jockey at numerous clubs, private events and weddings. He enjoyed book reading, fishing, bowling, basketball and listening to music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Shivers; his father, Ernest Shivers; his sister, Adora Marie Dixon and his brother, Joseph Lockwood. Keith is survived by his son, Pierre Shivers; his mother, Middie Farrow; his sisters: Vickie (Kenny) Banks, JoA’ (Nate) Clark and Carole Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Services were held Friday, March, 4, 2016 at Miramar National Cemetery. Final arrangements were entrusted to Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary.
