The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) San Diego Chapter is focused on bettering our communities. This is a chance to invest back into our community. We are a non-profit organization whose motto is “Democracy in Housing” and we are committed to improving the living standards of senior citizens in our community; a part of this commitment involves the restoration and rehabilitation of properties owned by senior citizens with low income and or no resources.
We have chosen Kathleen Harmon who has done so much for the community of San Diego over the past 60 years! Our intent is to do the necessary repairs to her house so that it can become a home once again; NAREB will need electrical, carpentry, roofing and plumbing repairs as well as termite and landscaping work. NAREB is currently in the process of cleaning up the debris and clearing out the house so that the actual construction work can begin. Once we have cleared out the house we should have a better grasp of what actually needs to be repaired and or replaced.
NAREB is grateful to have companies such as EDCO, Bite-away Termite, Metrius Electric, Aegis Termite and Cleanology involved with this project. We also have volunteers from United Missionary Baptist Church donating time and manpower.
The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) has organized this event that took place on April 12th, 2014 and will continue until Ms. Harmon’s home is complete. With the help of volunteers and donations from business we are confident that this will be a success. Sample Items that are needed are as follows:
- Monetary Donations
- Paint (painting supplies, brushes, paint buckets, gloves)
- Tools
- Various Items for volunteers (gloves, buckets, trash cans, shovels, cleaning supplies, aprons)
- Soil/Landscaping Materials/Rock/Brick
- Doors
- Carpet
- Furniture
