Obits 3-17-160004Born the last child and only son to Sherman and Juanita Nance on 16 April, 1953 with his twin sister Vickie Nance in San Diego California. Rickie began school at Stockton Elementary where he would sit and wait for Vickie to come do his work that was in 1958 and to this day twins are not allowed to be in the same classroom. He went on to graduate from Horton elementary, Gompers Jr. High and Hoover High School. In 1985 Rickie was blessed with his only son, Richard Alexander Nance whom he shared with Mary Williams. Not long after, he moved to Tucson, AZ and later Oakland, Ca, to learn how to build homes from his Uncles. Rickie also fished commercially in Alaska and this was one of his most memorable experiences. Rickie returned to San Diego in 2007 to be with his twin. He met Carmen “Shorty” Abercrombie whom he shared his life with to the end. Although we loved him God loved him more. He is preceded in death by Parents Sherman Nance and Juanita “Foots” Weaver, Grandparents McKinley and Sarah Tarpley, Bernard and Hazel Nance and Sister Anna Mae Cazon. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving partner, Shorty, Son Richard Nance (Bree), Grandsons Tyler and Kyle, Granddaughters Jenessa and Addison Nance, Sisters Shirlee Lott, Floy Porter, Vera Daniel-Willis, Janice North (Willie), Henry Edwards, Donna Williams (John) Sheila Edwards (Carl), Karlisa Jones, and Twin Vickie Vines. Brothers, Tony Weaver (Esther), and Irvin Nance and a host of nieces and nephews spanning four generations.
