Not afraid to show that it’s alright for pastors to get out and enjoy themselves, Pastor Hodges along with a room full of good looking folks from San Diego to Los Angeles hit the dance floor for a great night of Chicago-style stepping. Continuing in the tradition and goal of providing a positive atmosphere of fun to the more grown members of San Diego, Pastor Dennis Hodges of The Church of Yeshua Ha Mashiach in partnership with the San Diego Steppers connection hosted yet another successful evening of dance.
Held in the hall of the San Diego Police Shooting Range, this night was an enjoyable event for everyone in attendance, and was built on a continuing effort to provide a space for grown folks and Christians to get out of the house, laugh and dance the night away. Co-organizer and member of the San Diego Steppers Connection, Tamara Loyd shared, “We need something to do for the 30-and-up crowd that doesn’t want to booty shake in the club with 21 year olds, we’re just trying to have something grown and sexy for us to do.” The Steppers Connection’s main goal right now is just to grow and to bring this movement to the people of San Diego, not just solely for the fun of it but “it’s also great exercise and cardio,” shared Pastor Hodges. “What better way to get exercise than to have fun doing it, stepping is a culture we’re trying to introduce out here.”
COYHM aims to provide an outlet for people in the community to have nice, clean, fun; and to fellowship with one another. They will be holding a big 3-day weekend of stepping this March on the 14th, 15th, and 16th at the Sheraton 4 Points with a stepping workshop on the 15th at noon to teach any beginners who want to learn.
