San Diego, CA: Over 100 children and their families enjoyed the Annual MLK Park Easter Egg Hunt on the morning of Saturday, April 19th. Children 12 years old and under were broken into groups to ensure a safe egg hunt. Gigi Jenkins, “My family and I come to the Annual Egg Hunt every year. We have a lot of fun picking up the eggs with candy. They also give us a chance to win bigger prizes like toys and bikes! My little sister Jewel also got to take a picture with the Easter bunny. We had a lot of fun!”
Christina, “My son is an only child. I appreciate the community Easter Egg hunt so that he can enjoy this activity with other kids his age. The City of San Diego needs more activities to encourage kids
playing together at their community park. MLK park is beautiful. Just like many parks throughout the city. We, parents just need to take the time out to see what’s going on at the rec and get our kids involved. Get the kids away from the tv and video games and be active.”
Don Juan Robinson, “I’m here with my best friend and my sisters. I come to the MLK Easter Egg Hunt every year. I love the candy that they giveaway. But I really just like to hang out and play with my friends. There are a lot of other things we could be doing. We just want to stay out of trouble and have fun.” MLK Park & Recreation Center is located at 6401 Skyline Drive, San Diego, 92114 in Southeastern San Diego.
