Betty Jean Aldridge, owner of Betty Jean Massage, decided to join the mission of Damsel in Defense as an Independent Defense Pro to help as many women as possible to feel more confident with personal protection products.
Aldridge knew that she wanted to have a team to spread the message to the masses. This inspired her friend, Tracy Allen, owner of 9to5Not Business Solutions, to come on board as well and the team is continually growing. She named her team the “Protection Patrol Posse”. Together Aldridge and Allen are on a mission to EMPOWER, EQUIP, and EDUCATE women about personal safety by speaking to organizations, companies, and individuals that will gather some friends and family for an EMPOWER HOUR.
“During our Empower Hour, we provide women who may have never touched any weapons like this before, a safe and comfortable atmosphere to try the products,” shared Allen. “Of course they don’t pepper spray or stun anyone at these events, but we allow everyone to touch/hold, hear, and understand ways to use these products effectively for various situations.”
The Empower Hour is also considered a time for testimonials as well as an opportunity to offer techniques to deal with possible threats. “When people gather together in a group to speak about being more safety conscious, they always leave feeling more EMPOWERED,” said Aldridge.
As military veterans and business owners, both Aldridge and Allen each feel an obligation to be in a protective role to equip, not just women but, “good people,” with affordably priced stun guns, pepper sprays, and other personal protection products.
“With so much that is happening in San Diego and around the world, we feel that since we have become blessed to be equipped with the tools knowledge, and empowerment to make a difference for ourselves, we should offer this opportunity to others,” said Aldridge.
