Congratulations to Macy Meinhardt, former San Diego Voice & Viewpoint Staff Writer and CA Local News Fellow, honored with six awards at the San Diego Press Club’s 52nd Excellence in Journalism Awards — including the Wildcard Award and multiple First Place wins for investigative and community-centered reporting.
Macy also earned two video awards with Tihut Tamrat, Voice & Viewpoint’s Staff Writer and Assistant to the Editor, for “Do You Hear Us?”, uplifting Encanto residents’ voices around housing and equity.
Their work sets a high standard for the next generation of local journalists.
